Eighteen years of
student-led everything.
EMSC is the English Major Student Committee at the Faculty of Humanities and Tourism Management, Bangkok University. We are six sub-organizations run entirely by students, for students.
Everything we do — the newsletter, the events, the academic support, the social media, the welfare programs — is conceived, organized, and executed by English Major students who believe that university life should be more than lectures and exams.
What we do
We run study circles, exam clinics, and a linguistics talk series throughout the academic year. Every student, regardless of year level, has access to peer academic support.
Bookmark, our weekly newsletter, is one of the longest-running student publications at Bangkok University. We write, edit, design, and publish entirely in-house.
From open mics to year-end showcases, we build the social infrastructure of the English Major — the events, the rituals, the gatherings that make four years feel like community.
A dedicated welfare team runs year-mate support programs, wellness check-ins, and tutoring referrals — because academic success starts with students being okay.
History

The committee launched Bookmark, a weekly student-run newsletter covering campus life, English literature, and student opinion pieces.
Partnered with two Bangkok publishing houses to place English Major students in editorial internships — a first for the faculty.
EMSC Open Day became the faculty's largest annual student-run event, attracting over 400 attendees from across Bangkok University.
Launched the EMSC digital presence across Instagram, TikTok, and a new website — growing the online community to 3,200+ followers.
173 active members across six sub-organizations, 47 issues of Bookmark published, and a new intake of members joining each semester.
